- Reduced waste volume by up to 80
- Low maintenance
How the CEM 600 Works
The CEM 600 takes over all work steps from opening to lid removal and emptying, to rinsing and pressing the tins – all fully automatically. Only manual feeding of the tins is required. This machine can process up to 600 tins per hour – with extremely low personnel requirements.
1
Equipping the machine
At the beginning, the tins are placed either manually or via a conveyor belt onto the roller conveyor of the CEM 600. From there, they independently reach the opening unit, where they are precisely aligned for the following work step.
2
Opening the tins
In the opening station, a punching knife precisely cuts out the lid of the tin while securely holding it. The punched-out lid is safely removed from the machine via an ejection chute. The opened tin is then automatically transported to the emptying station.
3
Emptying the Products
Emptying is done by a 180° rotation of the tin, which was previously fixed by a collet. Liquid or easily flowing products fall independently into the collection container. For viscous or adhesive contents, a targeted blast of sterile air ensures complete emptying – the product is also transferred into the same collection container.
4
Rinsing the tins
Rinsing occurs immediately after the tipping process, while the tin is rotated 180° over the product ejection chute. In this position, the opened tin is rinsed with either sterile compressed air or water, as desired. This reliably removes residues – with an emptying rate of up to 98%, product losses are minimized.
5
Pressing the tins
In the final work step, the rinsed tins are compressed in the integrated pressing station and then discharged via the ejection chute. The compression reduces the volume of the empty tins by up to 80% – this lowers disposal efforts and contributes to cost reduction.

Functioning of the CEM 2.0
The CEM 2.0 performs the steps of opening, emptying, rinsing and pressing the tins fully automatically. Only the loading of the machine is carried out manually. This enables the CEM 2.0 to open up to 700 tins per hour with minimum manpower requirements.
1
Equipping the machine
In the first step, the tins are manually placed on the roller conveyor of the CEM 2.0. The tins roll to the opening station, where they are positioned for the next step.
2
Opening the tins
In the opening station, a punching knife precisely punches out the tin end and holds it in place. The tin end is then safely ejected from the machine via the ejection chute before the next tin is opened. After opening, the tin is automatically transported to the emptying station.

Emptying flowable products
Flowable products are automatically transferred to a collection container.
3 b
Emptying non-flowable products
Non-flowing or poorly flowing contents that are not completely emptied during tipping can be blown out using sterile compressed air and also end up in the same collection container.
4
Rinsing the tins
The emptied tins are passed on with the opening facing downwards. Once in the rinsing station, the tins can be rinsed out using either sterile compressed air or water. With an emptying rate of up to 98 %, almost the entire contents are removed, minimizing product loss.
5
Pressing the tins
Finally, the cleaned tins are pressed and disposed of via the ejection chute. This pressing reduces the volume of waste by up to 80 %, which both reduces the disposal effort and optimizes disposal costs.
Tin contents
The CEM 2.0 is a fully automatic tin opening machine used in the food industry. In addition to tins with liquid or paste-like contents such as tomato concentrate, it also processes tins with chunky contents such as beans or pineapple. It is therefore mainly used in companies that produce ready meals, pizzas, delicatessen salads or fruit preparations.
Tin formats
The CEM 2.0 was specially developed for the requirements of the food industry and adapts effortlessly to different can formats – without the need for time-consuming changeovers. The machine can open cylindrical tins to industrial standards, including tins weighing 2 kg, 3 kg or 5 kg and with a diameter of 153 mm to 157 mm. Even larger formats such as 10 kg and 12 kg tins with diameters between 230 mm and 233 mm are no problem. The CEM 2.0 enables tins with a height of 115 mm to 310 mm to be processed without the need for time-consuming format changes. This allows you to optimize your production processes and minimize set-up times.
