Vacuum Deaerator K-VE

A vacuum deaerator is used in the food industry to remove gases, especially air, from liquids or pasty foods. This process is known as deaeration or degassing. This process step is crucial for the quality, shelf life and efficiency of food processing for several reasons.

Your advantages at a glance

  • Increased product stability
  • Oxidation largely prevented
  • Improved shelf life of the products
  • Reduction in packaging volume
  • Uniform end product

How the Vacuum Deaerator Works

To remove air or gas inclusions in food, the product is first fed via a valve into a container with negative pressure or via a pump. There, the product hits a special distribution disc, which ensures thin-layer distribution.
The centrifugal force generated causes the product to be thrown through a sieve ring onto the container wall. The air bubbles burst through the meshes of the sieve ring and the impact of the product on the container wall. The released gases are efficiently extracted by a vacuum pump. The slow flow down along the container wall in a thin layer extends the deaeration time and thus significantly increases the degree of deaeration.
Finally, the deaerated product is discharged from the system using a discharge pump and is ready for further processing.

Our models

We offer you a selection of different vacuum deaerator models that differ in their throughput per hour. The throughput depends on the product and viscosity and can vary.

K-VE vacuum deaerator
TYPE Capacity in liters/hour
K-VE2 200 – 1.000
K-VE4 1.000 – 5.000
K-VE6 3.000 – 10.000
K-VE7 4.000 – 15.000
K-VE8 5.000 – 20.000

Advantages of vacuum deaerators

The vacuum deaeration system is used to deaerate liquid to viscous products that were not produced under vacuum and therefore have air pockets. The system works continuously and is usually the last unit of a production line before filling.

Extension of shelf life

Oxygen in the air leads to oxidation, which significantly reduces the taste, color and shelf life of the food.

Improvement in filling accuracy

Air in the liquid can lead to fluctuations in volume and inaccurate dosing during filling. A vacuum deaerator ensures that the filling quantities remain precise.
Examples: Filling beverages or liquid foods into bottles or pouches.

Improvement of the packaging process

Products that are free of air bubbles are easier to vacuum pack, which improves their shelf life and appearance.
Examples: Sauces in vacuum bags or pasty foods such as purees.
